3 Day exhibit during Art Basel Miami

In conjunction with Art Basel, Miami and its surrounding Art Fairs, Art Whino will present three exhibitions unified in one space. The focus this year will be to present New Brow’s distinct subcultures to the Art Basel world. The custom vinyl exhibit will showcase the premiere artists in this genre. With a series of large scale murals, we will bring street art indoors and accompany each colossal piece with smaller works by each artist. Finally, we will team up with Hope Gallery to bring Quick & Painful. This exhibit will feature the work of more than 15 important artists and designers with backgrounds in fine art, graffiti, and illustration in a unique exhibition where Fine Art becomes tattooed skin. The exhibition will be located in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District along with other accompanying art fairs.

Howdy, I am excited to say that I will be showing at New York Comic Con which opens it's doors tomorrow, October 13 - 16, 2011. Nordstroms Commission

I have finished a large Painting for Nordsrtoms the other day. It will be displayed behind the cashers wrap in the girls Dept. I have been working on commissions for Nordstroms over the last 3 years and have made over 50 paintings for them. 5 of there keystone stores have a large 40 x 60 inch painting like this one. Almost every store has up to three original painting by your truly on display in the Girls dept. dressing rooms. It's been a fun project to work on over the years.

Art Whino returns in 2011 for the second edition of G40. The first G40 art summit in 2010 compounded artistically explosive cultures from all over the world and brought them to the DC metro area. By bringing all of these cultures from throughout the world to one place it allowed the visitor to be fully immersed in over 2000 works by 500 artists organized by floors corresponding to their cultural hubs.

This year G40 explores not cultures but the genres which are on the forefront of creative transitions and growing in large scale with hundreds of thousands of fans throughout the world. Some of these genres include Customized collectibles, Skateboard Art, Stencil, Wheat Paste and 3D Installations.

The G40 Art Summit is a unprecedented experience in the art world with its scale and caliber of artists from around the world. This year the summit comes to the city next to the U street corridor taking over an entire 25,000 sqft building and showcasing art on all of it 4 floors. From over twenty artists showcasing 16’ Murals to traditionally displayed artwork the summit will definitely have sensory overload requiring multiple trips to take in all the treats for the eyes.

My heart goes out to everyone who has been effected by the disaster in Japan. Most of my wife's family lives in Tokyo and we have been in contact with them thankfully everyone is accounted for and doing fine. It's truly heartbreaking to see the devastation that the Earthquake & Tsunami has caused.

Here is my collection of Jibibut customs for Noferin's show We Heart Wood. I enjoyed making these. Working with wood is so much better than vinyl. Its so much easier to sand, cut and chew on. Plus wood makes the colors pop a bit more, in my opinion. If you are in LA check the show out first hand at Munky King and if you are stuck in the midwest like I am be sure to enjoy the show online. I am sure there will be plenty of coverage given the amazing lineup of Artist in this show.

Transforming a Jibibut to Kokeshi. We Heart Wood, Jibibuts Custom show

Noferin has a wonderful new line of wooden toys called Jibibuts. They have asked a handful of their favorite Artists' to customize these fantastic little toys. I was delighted to part of the show. Here are some work in progress images of my latest Jibibut custom.

I started with a cute little Jibibut and a Kokeshi Base. These Jibibuts are way to nice to sand and paint over But I must do as Noferin asks.

After several coats of gesso the drawing begins.

After several hours of painting away here is the final product.

Over 6 months in the making, OhNo!Doom is proud to present our latest and greatest event!

This show features the largest painted 'Exquisite Corpse' composition ever attempted, consisting of art work from 40 Top Chicago Artists (graffiti, character, fine, street, stencil)... and we are finally ready to bring this massive corpse to life!

The final installation consists of 80, 1 foot by 1 foot panels, which brings the piece to 16 feet long by 5 feet high. Concepted and Curated by OhNo!Doom, Chicago.
